The question set behind each niche

These are the real questions each niche's intake asks, the same ones the live form runs. Open a template to read them. Every free-text field has a dictation button, and each template includes a photo prompt.

The templates, ready to preview

Doors & loading docks

After-hours & emergency

The anchor niche: overhead doors, dock levelers, gate operators — with the failure and a photo captured up front.

What's going on with the door or dock?

  • Overhead door won't open or close
  • Door off its track or panel damaged
  • Dock leveler stuck, sinking, or won't raise
  • Dock seal / shelter torn or missing
  • Gate or operator not running
  • Spring or cable looks broken (do not operate)
  • Something else

How urgent is this?

  • Emergency — the opening is stuck or the building isn't secure
  • Soon — needs attention in the next day or two
  • Planning / just want a quote

Which equipment is it?

  • Not sure
  • Sectional overhead door
  • Rolling steel door / grille
  • High-speed / fabric door
  • Dock leveler / lift
  • Gate operator

Roughly how wide is the opening?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the door section or the leveler's data plate shows the tech the panel gauge, track type, or leveler model before the truck is loaded. An emergency call then carries the right springs or lip parts, rather than turning into a measure-and-come-back trip.

Commercial refrigeration

After-hours & emergency

Walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines: is product at risk, which unit, and a nameplate photo captured before dispatch.

What's happening with the refrigeration?

  • Walk-in cooler or freezer not holding temperature
  • Display / reach-in case running warm
  • Ice machine not producing or leaking
  • Compressor short-cycling or loud
  • Suspected refrigerant leak (oily residue, hissing)
  • Coils or evaporator iced over
  • Something else

How urgent is this?

  • Emergency — product is at risk right now
  • Soon — within a day or two
  • Planning / just want a quote

Which unit is affected?

  • Not sure
  • Walk-in cooler
  • Walk-in freezer
  • Reach-in / display case
  • Ice machine
  • Rack / multiple units

Current temperature reading, if you have one?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A nameplate photo tells the tech the compressor model and control board before dispatch. An emergency call then brings the right part instead of becoming a diagnose-only trip and a second visit. On a spoilage clock, the first-roll fix is what matters.

Emergency veterinary

After-hours & emergency

One clinic's after-hours request line: the pet, the owner's own words, and contact — booking and routing only, no medical assessment.

What are you seeing? (in your own words)

  • Ate or swallowed something they shouldn't have
  • Vomiting or upset stomach
  • Injury, wound, or limping
  • Not eating or unusually tired
  • Breathing seems off to us
  • Something else

When are you hoping to be seen?

  • As soon as possible
  • Today or tomorrow if you can
  • Booking a routine visit

What kind of pet is it?

  • Prefer to say at the visit
  • Dog
  • Cat
  • Other

Is your pet already a patient here?

  • Not sure
  • Yes
  • No — first visit

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

If it helps, an owner can attach a photo of the package or plant their pet got into, or the pet's tag — plain context the front desk can pass along. It is never reviewed as a diagnosis and the form makes no medical assessment; a true emergency means calling the clinic or nearest ER right away.

Commercial pest control

Everyday booking

Restaurants, warehouses, and food facilities: the pest, the zone, and a photo that IDs the species up front.

What are you seeing?

  • Rodents — mice or rats
  • Cockroaches
  • Flies, gnats, or drain flies
  • Ants
  • Stored-product or pantry pests
  • Bed bugs
  • Something else

What's driving the timing?

  • Health inspection or audit is imminent
  • Active problem — want it handled this week
  • Setting up recurring service or a quote

What kind of facility is it?

  • Prefer to say later
  • Restaurant / commercial kitchen
  • Warehouse / distribution
  • Food processing / packaging
  • Hotel / hospitality
  • Office / multi-unit property

Where is the activity concentrated?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the pest, its droppings, or the damage narrows the species before anyone visits — German roach versus American, mouse versus rat, stored-product beetle versus pantry moth. That decides the treatment plan and what goes on the truck, so a compliance-driven call doesn't burn a first visit on identification.

Pet grooming booking

Everyday booking

The everyday pole: pet, size, coat plan, and service captured so a waitlisted studio books the right slot.

What does your pet need?

  • Full groom (bath, cut, nails, ears)
  • Bath & tidy
  • Nail trim only
  • De-shedding treatment
  • First groom for a puppy or kitten
  • Mobile grooming — the van comes to you
  • Something else

When would you like to come in?

  • As soon as you have an opening
  • Sometime this week
  • I'm flexible — just planning ahead

What kind of pet is it?

  • Prefer to say at booking
  • Dog
  • Cat
  • Other

Rough size?

  • Not sure
  • Small (under 20 lb)
  • Medium (20–50 lb)
  • Large (50 lb+)

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of your pet lets the studio judge coat length, size, and grooming plan before booking — a heavily matted double coat needs a longer slot than a quick tidy. That's the difference between a booking that runs on time and one that blows up the day's schedule. It's a grooming attribute, never a health check.

Commercial & window cleaning

Everyday booking

Recurring janitorial, windows, and floor care: the space, size, frequency, and COI captured before the walkthrough.

What do you need cleaned?

  • Recurring office / janitorial service
  • Window cleaning (interior or exterior)
  • Floor care — strip, wax, or carpet
  • Post-construction or move-out clean
  • Disinfection / deep clean
  • Something else

What's the timing?

  • One-time job on a tight date
  • Want to start recurring service soon
  • Comparing quotes / planning ahead

What kind of space is it?

  • Prefer to say later
  • Office / professional
  • Retail / storefront
  • Medical / clinic
  • Warehouse / industrial
  • High-rise / multi-floor

Rough size and how often?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the lobby, the floor type, or the window elevation lets the estimator judge scope, equipment, and access before the walkthrough — carpet or hard floor, ground-level or high-rise glass. It turns a vague "send a quote" into a walkthrough that's already half-scoped.

See this niche & try it live

Commercial roofing

After-hours & emergency

Leaks, storm damage, membrane and drain problems — with the roof system, access, and a ground-level photo captured first.

What's happening with the roof?

  • Active leak — water coming inside
  • Storm or wind damage
  • Membrane tear, split, or open seam
  • Ponding water that won't drain
  • Flashing, curb, or parapet issue
  • Blocked or overflowing roof drain
  • Something else

How urgent is this?

  • Emergency — water is entering the building now
  • Soon — no active leak, but needs a look this week
  • Planning / just want a quote

Roof system, if you know it?

  • Not sure
  • TPO / EPDM (single-ply)
  • Modified bitumen / built-up
  • Metal / standing seam
  • Shingle / pitched

Roughly how big is the roof, and how many stories?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

An interior stain photo plus a ground-level shot of the building lets the estimator guess the membrane, size the crew, and decide whether an emergency tarp or dry-in is needed tonight versus a scheduled repair — all before the first truck leaves. No one has to get on the roof to file the request.

Real estate

Everyday booking

One form, two paths: a buyer's budget, areas, and financing stage, or a seller's home, timeline, and condition photos.

I'm buying

What are you looking to buy?

  • Single-family home
  • Condo or co-op
  • Townhome
  • Multi-family (2–4 units)
  • Land or a lot to build on
  • Something else

Where are you in the process?

  • Ready to tour and make offers now
  • Actively looking — the next month or two
  • Just starting to explore

What price range are you shopping in?

  • Not sure yet
  • Under $250k
  • $250k–$400k
  • $400k–$600k
  • $600k–$900k
  • $900k and up

Which areas, and any must-haves?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

I'm selling

What brings you in?

  • I'd like to list my home for sale
  • I want to know what it's worth
  • I'm thinking about renting it out
  • Not sure yet — I'd like to talk it through
  • Something else

How soon are you looking to move?

  • Ready to list now
  • In the next month or two
  • Just exploring — no set date

What kind of property is it?

  • Prefer to say later
  • Single-family home
  • Condo or townhome
  • Multi-family (2–4 units)
  • Land or a lot

Tell us about the home.

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

On the selling side, a few photos — the front of the house and the main rooms — let an agent read the home's condition and start prepping the listing before the first visit, instead of walking in blind. On the buying side there's less to photograph, so the form asks instead for the areas, the price range, and links to listings you like — the details that tell an agent whether this is a serious search worth a call tonight.

Home remodel & design

Everyday booking

Kitchens, baths, whole-home, or design-only: the project, scope, budget range, and photos of the space captured up front.

What kind of project is it?

  • Kitchen remodel
  • Bathroom remodel
  • Whole-home remodel
  • Addition or added space
  • Interior design only (no construction)
  • Something else

What's your timeline?

  • Ready to start as soon as possible
  • In the next few months
  • Gathering ideas and budget

How much of a change is it?

  • Not sure yet
  • Cosmetic — finishes and fixtures
  • Full replacement — layout mostly stays
  • Structural — moving walls or footprint

Do you have a budget range in mind?

  • Still figuring it out
  • Under $15k
  • $15k–$40k
  • $40k–$75k
  • $75k–$150k
  • $150k and up

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Photos of the room as it is today let a contractor or designer read the scope, the condition, and rough measurements before the first visit — a dated galley kitchen with a wall you want opened up tells a very different story than a fresh-finish refresh. A reference shot of a look you like sets the style. Together they turn a vague "we want to redo the kitchen" into an estimate that starts close to right.

See this niche & try it live

Auto detailing & wrap

Everyday booking

Service, vehicle, mobile-or-shop, and photos of the paint and interior, captured before a detailing or wrap quote.

What are you looking to have done?

  • Full detail (interior + exterior)
  • Interior detail / deep clean
  • Exterior detail / wash & polish
  • Paint correction / swirl removal
  • Ceramic coating
  • Paint protection film (PPF / clear bra)
  • Vinyl wrap — color change or partial
  • Something else

When are you hoping to book?

  • As soon as you have an opening
  • Within the next week or two
  • Flexible — just getting a quote

What kind of vehicle is it?

  • Prefer to say when we talk
  • Sedan or coupe
  • SUV or crossover
  • Pickup truck
  • Van or minivan
  • Other (exotic, oversized, fleet)

Where would the work happen?

  • Whatever works for you
  • Mobile — come to my home or office
  • I'll drop it off at the shop
  • Either is fine

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Photos of the paint and interior do the estimating. Swirl marks under the light, a scratch's depth, ground-in stains, or the panels a partial wrap has to cover — these decide whether it's a two-hour polish or a full-day correction, and they set the price before anyone drives over. A blank contact box gets none of that, so the callback is just to ask for pictures anyway.

See this niche & try it live

Junk removal

Everyday booking

What's going, the volume, the access, and a photo of the pile — enough to size the crew and truck before the quote.

What needs to go?

  • Furniture or a few large items
  • Appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, etc.)
  • Full cleanout (garage, home, or estate)
  • Construction or renovation debris
  • Yard waste or brush
  • A single heavy item (piano, safe, hot tub)
  • Something else

When do you need it gone?

  • As soon as you have an opening
  • Within the next few days
  • Flexible — just getting a quote

Roughly how much is there?

  • Not sure — the photo says it best
  • A few items
  • About a room's worth
  • A garage or a truck-load
  • A whole home or property

How is the access where the items are sitting?

  • Not sure
  • Ground level or already at the curb
  • Up or down stairs
  • Elevator building
  • Tight hallways, doorways, or a basement

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the pile does the sizing. It tells the operator how many truckloads, how big a crew, and how long the haul takes — the whole basis of the price. A stairs-versus-curb access note on top of that decides whether it's a two-person or a four-person job. Words alone leave all of it to a callback and a second round of questions.

Tattoo booking

Everyday booking

Design, placement, size, and reference images captured so the artist can quote and book — design intake only, no health questions.

What do you have in mind?

  • A new custom piece
  • A piece from the artist's flash / existing designs
  • Cover-up or rework of an existing tattoo
  • Adding to an existing piece or sleeve
  • Touch-up on past work
  • Not sure yet — I'd like a consultation
  • Something else

When are you hoping to book?

  • As soon as the artist has an opening
  • Within the next month
  • Flexible — just planning ahead

Where on the body would it go?

  • Still deciding
  • Arm (upper, forearm, or sleeve)
  • Leg (thigh, calf, or ankle)
  • Back or shoulder
  • Chest, ribs, or torso
  • Hand, neck, or face
  • Somewhere else

Roughly how big, and color or black-and-grey?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Reference images and a shot of the spot are what an artist actually works from. They show the style to match, whether a placement suits the idea's proportions, and — on a cover-up — how much old ink there is to work around. That's what decides which artist fits, how many sessions it takes, and the deposit. It is never a skin or health assessment; that happens in person.

Catering

Everyday booking

Event, date, head count, service style, and menu direction with dietary counts, captured before a quote goes out.

What are you catering?

  • Wedding or rehearsal dinner
  • Corporate event or office meal
  • Private party or celebration
  • Fundraiser or nonprofit event
  • Recurring or standing order
  • Something else

When is the event?

  • Soon — within about two weeks
  • In the next couple of months
  • Further out, or the date is still flexible

Roughly how many guests?

  • Not sure yet
  • Under 25
  • 25–75
  • 75–150
  • 150–300
  • 300+

How would you like the food served?

  • Not sure — open to suggestions
  • Drop-off (no staff on site)
  • Buffet, set up on site
  • Food stations
  • Plated, served to seats
  • Full-service (staff, cooking on site)

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the venue or serving space tells the caterer what they’re walking into — whether there’s a prep area or power for hot service, how the tables lay out, where a buffet or stations would go. That’s the difference between a quote that holds and one that gets revised on the day of setup.

Bridal salon

Everyday booking

  • Alterations or a fitting on a gown I have
  • Something else

When’s the wedding?

  • Under three months away

A budget range for the gown?

  • Not sure yet

  • $1,500–$3,000
  • $3,000–$5,000
  • $5,000+

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

The photos of dresses she’s saved are the heart of it — silhouette, neckline, fabric, the whole vibe. A consultant can pull a rack that matches before she arrives, so the appointment is spent trying on gowns she already loves the shape of, instead of starting the search in the fitting room. It’s about the dress, never a read on the person.

Wedding & event photographer

Everyday booking

Date, coverage hours, deliverables, venue, and style references, captured before the inquiry lands.

What are you looking to have photographed?

  • Wedding
  • Engagement or couples session
  • Elopement or small ceremony
  • Event or party
  • Portrait or family session
  • Something else

When’s the date?

  • Under three months away
  • Three to nine months away
  • Further out — or we don’t have a date yet

How much coverage do you need?

  • Not sure yet
  • A few hours
  • Half day (about 4–6 hours)
  • Full day (about 8–10 hours)
  • Multiple days or events

What matters most in what you get back?

  • Not sure yet
  • A digital gallery to download and share
  • A printed album
  • Prints or wall art
  • Video as well as photos

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

The reference images and portfolio links a couple sends are what a photographer reads first: light-and-airy or moody, candid or posed, film or digital. Together with a look at the venue’s light and space, they tell the photographer whether the day’s timeline and their shooting style are a match — before a single call. Taste is the thing that decides the booking.

Foundation repair

Everyday booking

What's cracking, whether it's moving, the foundation type, and a photo — enough for an estimator to read the problem before the visit.

What are you noticing?

  • Stair-step cracks in brick or block outside
  • Cracks in interior walls or ceilings
  • Doors or windows sticking or out of square
  • Sloping, uneven, or bouncy floors
  • Gaps opening around windows, doors, or the chimney
  • Water or moisture in a crawlspace or basement
  • Something else

How would you describe the situation?

  • It's changing quickly — cracks are new or getting wider
  • I'd like it looked at in the next week or two
  • Just want to understand it and get a quote

What kind of foundation is it, if you know?

  • Not sure
  • Slab on grade
  • Pier-and-beam / crawlspace
  • Basement
  • Multi-story or brick veneer

How long have you noticed it, and is it changing?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo does what words can't here. A stair-step crack in brick, a horizontal crack in a basement wall, and a hairline in drywall are three completely different conversations — and an estimator can tell them apart on sight, along with the width and whether it's cosmetic settling or something structural. A coin or a tape in the frame for scale turns the photo into a measurement, so the first visit starts from a real read instead of a blank slate.

Gutters

Everyday booking

Cleaning or repair in one form: what's wrong, the stories, the surroundings, and a ground-level photo that sizes the job.

What do you need for the gutters?

  • Cleaning — clogged or overflowing
  • Repair — leaking, sagging, or pulling away
  • Sections coming loose or fallen down
  • Downspout or drainage problem
  • Add gutter guards / leaf protection
  • Replace or install new gutters
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • Water's getting in or pouring where it shouldn't
  • In the next week or so
  • Flexible — just want a quote

How many stories, and how's the access?

  • Not sure
  • Single story
  • Two stories
  • Three stories or more
  • Steep roof or tricky access

Roughly how much — a section, one side, or the whole house?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

One photo from the ground usually settles which job it is — a clog that's overflowing at a corner, a run sagging away from the fascia, or a downspout that's come apart. The number of stories on top of that sets the ladder and whether it's a one-person or a two-person visit. Heavy tree cover in the shot is also the honest case for guards, so the conversation isn't just this year's clog. No one needs to climb up — the ground-level photo does the diagnosing.

Fencing

Everyday booking

Material, linear feet, slopes and gates, and a property-line photo — most of a fencing quote before the site visit.

What's the fence project?

  • New fence installation
  • Replace an old or damaged fence
  • Repair a section — leaning, broken, or storm-damaged
  • Gate or gate hardware
  • Extend or add to an existing fence
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • A fence is down and I need it handled quickly
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

What material do you have in mind?

  • Not sure — open to suggestions
  • Wood / cedar
  • Vinyl
  • Chain-link
  • Aluminum / ornamental iron
  • Composite

Roughly how much fence, and any slopes, corners, or gates?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo down the property line does most of the estimating. It shows the terrain — a flat run versus a grade the fence has to step down — the corners, and whether old posts are worth reusing, all of which move the material count and the labor more than the fence style does. Paired with a rough linear-foot number and the gate count, it's close to a real quote before anyone measures, which is what wins the job against three slower bids.

Residential garage doors

Everyday booking

The door, the symptom, and the opener — with a hard safety line: a broken spring is never a DIY job.

What's going on with the garage door?

  • Door won't open or close
  • Door off its track or a panel is bent
  • Spring or cable looks broken (do not operate)
  • Opener or motor not working
  • Remote or keypad not responding
  • Loud, jerky, or coming off balance
  • New door or opener installation
  • Something else

How urgent is it?

  • A car's stuck inside, or the door won't secure the house
  • Needs attention in the next day or two
  • Not urgent — just want a quote

How many doors, and roughly what size?

  • Not sure
  • One single door
  • One double (two-car) door
  • Two or more doors

Opener brand or age, if you know it?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the door and the opener unit tells a tech the door style, the spring type, and the opener model before the truck is loaded, so it carries the right parts instead of turning into a return trip. What the intake never does is coach anyone toward the springs or cables themselves — those are under high tension and are a technician's job. The photo is taken from a safe distance; the fix is not.

  • Minor plumbing — faucet, toilet, disposal
  • Minor electrical — fixtures, switches, fans
  • Outdoor — deck boards, gates, small exterior fixes

  • A few (2–4)
  • About a half-day's worth
  • A full day or more

What the photo does here

For a handyman, a photo of each task is the estimate. The wall where the TV goes, the cracked piece of drywall, the wobbly railing — each one tells the operator the tools, the parts, and the minutes before anyone drives out. That's what turns a vague "few things around the house" into a priced list the same day, instead of a walk-through, a second round of questions, and a quote that arrives days later.

Painting

Everyday booking

Interior

What are you painting inside?

  • Whole home
  • A few rooms
  • A single room
  • Ceilings, trim, or doors
  • Cabinets or built-ins
  • An accent wall, or patch and repair first
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • As soon as there's an opening
  • In the next week or two
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

How many rooms, roughly?

  • Not sure yet
  • One room
  • Two or three rooms
  • Most of the home
  • Whole home, empty
  • Whole home, furnished

Which rooms, and what's involved?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

On the exterior, a photo of each elevation gives the estimator the square footage, the surface — wood, stucco, and fiber-cement all paint differently — and the prep, which is where peeling and bare wood add labor the paint never does. Inside, photos of the rooms show ceiling height, trim to cut in, and whether a bold color has to be covered, which is the real driver of coats and time. Either way the photo is where the quote actually lives, not the phone call.

Pressure washing

Everyday booking

What's being washed, the rough size, the water access, and a before photo that sizes the job and picks the method.

What needs washing?

  • Driveway, walkway, or patio
  • House siding / soft wash
  • Deck or fence
  • Roof (soft wash)
  • Storefront, sidewalk, or flat commercial
  • Concrete with oil or rust stains
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • In the next week or so
  • Flexible — just want a quote

Roughly how big an area?

  • Not sure — the photo says it best
  • Small — one surface
  • Medium — a few areas
  • Large — whole exterior or a big lot

What the photo does here

The before photo does two jobs at once. It sizes the area, and it picks the method: green algae on siding needs a low-pressure soft wash, an oil stain on concrete needs a degreaser and dwell time, and a mossy north-facing roof needs almost no pressure at all. Get that wrong and you strip paint or gouge wood — so an operator reads the surface and the staining off the photo before quoting, and that same before shot is what sells the customer on the after.

Landscaping & lawns

Everyday booking

The yard size, the vision and budget, one-time or ongoing, and a photo — a wish turned into a scope to price.

What's the landscaping project?

  • New design or full landscape install
  • Lawn care / regular maintenance
  • One-time cleanup or overgrowth
  • Planting — beds, trees, shrubs, or sod
  • Hardscape — patio, walkway, or retaining wall
  • Drainage or grading
  • Sprinkler / irrigation
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • As soon as there's an opening
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

Roughly how big is the yard?

  • Not sure
  • Small — a city lot
  • Medium — around a quarter acre
  • Large — a half acre or more
  • Commercial or HOA property

What are you picturing?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the yard turns "make it nice" into a real scope. A wide shot reads the size, the grade, the sun, and what's overgrown; a close-up of the trouble spot — a bare patch, a soggy corner, an aging bed — shows the work that's actually needed. Paired with a budget range, that's most of a design conversation before the first walk-through, so the estimator arrives with a plan to react to instead of a blank yard and a vague wish.

Tree service

After-hours & emergency

The job, the proximity to structures and lines, the access, and a photo — the risk read that sets crew, gear, and price.

What do you need for the tree or trees?

  • Tree removal
  • Trimming or pruning
  • Storm damage — a tree or limb down or leaning
  • A tree leaning toward a house, line, or walkway
  • Stump grinding or removal
  • A tree that looks sick or dying
  • Something else

How urgent is it?

  • A tree or large limb is down or leaning on a structure now
  • Needs attention in the next few days
  • Not urgent — just want a quote

How many trees, and roughly how big?

  • Not sure
  • One small tree
  • One large tree
  • A few trees
  • Many / a whole lot

How close is it to the house, power lines, or a fence?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the tree and its surroundings is the whole risk assessment. An arborist reads the species, the lean, the size, and — most of all — how close it is to the house, a fence, or a power line, which is what sets the crew, whether a bucket truck or a crane is needed, and the price. A storm-damaged limb over a roof and a backyard removal with open driveway access are completely different jobs, and the photo settles which one it is before anyone rolls out. What it never does is promise how fast that is.

House cleaning

Everyday booking

The type of clean, the home size, the focus areas, and the frequency — a real slot and price before the crew arrives.

What kind of cleaning do you need?

  • Regular recurring cleaning
  • A one-time deep clean
  • Move-in or move-out clean
  • After a renovation or construction
  • Before or after an event or guests
  • Specific areas only — kitchen, baths
  • Something else

When would you like it?

  • As soon as there's an opening
  • Sometime this week
  • I'm flexible — just pricing it out

How big is the home?

  • Not sure of the exact size
  • Studio or 1 bedroom
  • 2–3 bedrooms
  • 4 bedrooms
  • Large home (5+ or two stories)

Anything to focus on, or that needs extra attention?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

For cleaning, the photo is about time, not repair. A post-renovation kitchen with drywall dust, a move-out fridge, or a heavy-traffic bathroom tells the cleaner how many hours and which supplies the job really takes — the things that turn a cheerful phone quote into a bad surprise at the door. With the photo up front, the booking is sized honestly, so the crew shows up with the right time blocked and the right supplies in the van.

Solar installation

Everyday booking

The system type, a roof photo, the electric bill to offset, and the roof's age — enough to size and price before the visit.

What are you looking into?

  • Whole-home rooftop solar
  • Solar plus a battery backup
  • Add a battery to a system I already have
  • A ground-mount array (not on the roof)
  • Just exploring — want to see the numbers
  • Something else

What's your timing?

  • Ready to move as soon as it pencils out
  • In the next few months
  • Early — just gathering numbers for now

What's the roof, if it's a rooftop system?

  • Not sure
  • Asphalt shingle
  • Metal
  • Tile (clay or concrete)
  • Flat / low-slope
  • Ground-mount — not a roof

Roughly what's your electric bill, and who's your utility?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

For solar, the roof photo and the bill are the whole conversation. The photo shows the orientation, the pitch, the shading from trees or a chimney, the condition, and how much unobstructed area there really is — the difference between a roof that carries a full array and one that fits half of it. The electric bill shows how much power the system has to offset, which sets the size. Put those two together and an installer can rough out a system and a price before the site visit, instead of booking a truck just to find out the roof faces the wrong way.

Pool building

Everyday booking

The pool type, an honest budget range, the yard's access and slope, and the features — a real project told apart from a daydream.

What are you planning to build?

  • A new in-ground gunite / concrete pool
  • A fiberglass pool
  • A vinyl-liner pool
  • A spa or hot tub only
  • A major remodel of an existing pool
  • Still exploring — gathering ideas and budget
  • Something else

What's your timeline?

  • Ready to build this season
  • In the next several months
  • Early planning — just want to understand cost

What budget range are you working with?

  • Not sure yet — need guidance
  • Under $50k
  • $50k–$80k
  • $80k–$120k
  • Over $120k

Tell us about the yard and the access.

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the backyard tells a builder what a paragraph can't: the real size, the slope, the trees and lines overhead, and — the make-or-break question — how a small excavator gets from the street to the dig. A pool that looks obvious on paper can be impossible if the only way in is a three-foot side gate. The photo, paired with a budget range, is what separates a project a builder should design a proposal for from one that's still a wish, before anyone spends an afternoon measuring.

Siding

Everyday booking

The job, the current material, the size in stories, and elevation photos — most of a siding quote before the visit.

What's the siding job?

  • Replace all the siding
  • Repair a damaged section
  • Re-side over what's there
  • Storm or hail damage (may be an insurance claim)
  • Siding for new construction or an addition
  • Just want a quote and options
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • There's exposed or damaged siding letting weather in
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

What's on the house now?

  • Not sure
  • Wood or hardboard
  • Vinyl
  • Fiber-cement (Hardie)
  • Aluminum / metal
  • Stucco
  • Brick with some siding

What are you leaning toward, and how big is the house?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Photos of the elevations do the estimating a phone call can't. Each side gives the square footage, the current material, the trim and corners, and the number of openings to work around — and a close-up of a soft or buckled spot shows the rot or moisture damage that decides whether it's a repair or a tear-off. Siding is priced by the wall, not by the sentence, so the photos turn "replace my siding" into a real coverage number and a real scope before anyone measures.

Decks & patios

Everyday booking

The material, the vision and inspiration photos, the features, and a photo of the space — a real design to react to.

What are you looking to build?

  • A new wood deck
  • A new composite deck
  • A paver patio
  • A covered porch, pergola, or shade structure
  • Repair or refinish an existing deck
  • Not decided — want ideas and a quote
  • Something else

When are you hoping to build?

  • Soon — want to enjoy it this season
  • In the next couple of months
  • Planning ahead — gathering ideas and a price

What material are you leaning toward?

  • Not sure — open to advice
  • Pressure-treated wood
  • Cedar or hardwood
  • Composite (Trex and similar)
  • Pavers or stone
  • A concrete patio

What are you picturing?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Two kinds of photo carry a deck or patio project. A photo of the space shows the builder the size, the grade, the door it connects to, and how high off the ground the structure has to sit — which drives the footings and the stairs. Your saved inspiration photos show the look you're actually after: the railing style, the board pattern, the pergola. Together they turn "I want a deck back here" into a design a builder can price and refine, instead of an afternoon spent guessing at what you meant.

Flooring

Everyday booking

The material, the rooms and square footage, the subfloor, and photos — a measured quote instead of a phone guess.

What flooring work do you need?

  • Install new flooring
  • Replace what's there now
  • Refinish existing hardwood
  • Repair a damaged area
  • Whole-home reflooring
  • Just want a quote and options
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • As soon as there's an opening
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just pricing it out

What flooring are you after?

  • Not sure — need options
  • Hardwood
  • Luxury vinyl plank or laminate
  • Tile
  • New carpet
  • Refinish the existing hardwood

Which rooms, and roughly how much space?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

Photos of the rooms turn a flooring guess into a quote. They show the real area, the layout and transitions between rooms, and the condition of what's down now — which decides whether the old floor is going out or getting covered. A shot of the subfloor where it's exposed tells the installer if it's slab or plywood, level or not, because that's what sets the prep and the underlayment. The floor is priced by measured square footage, so the photos are where the number actually comes from, not the sentence "a few rooms."

Countertops

Everyday booking

The material, the layout in linear feet, the cutouts and edges, and a photo — enough to quote before the templater visits.

What countertops do you need?

  • Kitchen counters
  • Kitchen counters plus an island
  • A bathroom vanity top
  • Replace existing counters
  • New construction or a remodel
  • An outdoor kitchen or bar
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • As soon as a slot opens
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

What material are you after?

  • Not sure — need options
  • Quartz
  • Granite
  • Marble or natural stone
  • Butcher block / wood
  • Laminate or solid surface

Tell us about the layout.

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the current counters gives a fabricator most of the estimate. It shows the run and the corners, the island, where the sink and cooktop cutouts fall, and the backsplash and edges — the details that move a countertop price far more than the room's size does. An L-shaped kitchen with an island, two cutouts, and a waterfall edge is a very different slab than a straight galley run, and the photo settles which one it is before a templater ever measures, so the quote is real instead of a round number that changes on site.

Carpet cleaning

Everyday booking

The areas, the stains and their age, the fiber, and a photo — an honest quote instead of a per-room surprise.

What needs cleaning?

  • Carpet in a few rooms
  • Whole-home carpet
  • Pet stains and odor
  • A specific stain or spill
  • Upholstery or furniture
  • Area rugs
  • Tile and grout
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • As soon as there's an opening
  • Sometime this week
  • I'm flexible — just pricing it out

How much carpet, roughly?

  • Not sure
  • One room
  • A few rooms
  • Whole home
  • Rooms plus a staircase
  • Area rugs or upholstery only

What are the stains, and how old are they?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

For carpet cleaning the photo isn't about time, it's about honesty. A set-in pet stain that's soaked into the pad, an old red-wine ring, and gray traffic lanes each call for a different treatment and a different price — and a fiber like wool or a delicate rug rules out the harsh methods entirely. Seeing the worst spots up front lets the cleaner quote a real number and say plainly what will and won't lift, so nobody gets a cheerful phone price that doubles once the tech sees the actual stains.

Concrete & masonry

Everyday booking

The work, the equipment access, the size, and a site photo — a quote that covers demo and access, not just the pour.

What concrete or masonry work do you need?

  • A driveway
  • A patio slab, walkway, or steps
  • Footings or a slab for a structure
  • A retaining wall
  • Brick, block, or stone work
  • Tear out and replace existing concrete
  • Something else

How soon do you need it?

  • There's a broken or unsafe surface to deal with
  • In the next few weeks
  • Planning ahead — just want a quote

What's the work, more specifically?

  • Not sure — need advice
  • Plain poured concrete flatwork
  • Stamped, colored, or decorative concrete
  • Brick or block work
  • Natural stone
  • Repair or resurface existing

How would equipment reach the work, and what's there now?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A site photo shows a concrete crew what a measurement never does: the access. It reveals whether a truck can pour straight off the chute or the mix has to be pumped or barrowed around back, the grade the forms have to follow, and whether there's an old cracked slab that has to be broken out and hauled off first. Those are the things that swing the labor and the price far more than the surface area — so the photo turns "I need a new driveway" into a quote that already knows what the job really involves.

Waterproofing

Everyday booking

Where the water shows up, its history, any existing drainage, and a photo — the pattern that points interior vs exterior.

What's the water problem?

  • Water getting into the basement
  • A damp or wet crawlspace
  • Seepage or dampness through foundation walls
  • Water pooling around the house or in the yard
  • A sump pump that's failing or needed
  • A musty smell or mold concern from moisture
  • Something else

How urgent is it?

  • Water is coming in right now
  • It's happened before and I want it fixed soon
  • Not urgent — want it assessed and quoted

Where is the water showing up?

  • Not sure exactly
  • In the basement
  • In the crawlspace
  • On the slab or ground floor
  • Outside — grading or yard drainage
  • More than one spot

When does it happen, and for how long has it?

Free-text answer (with dictation).

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of where the water shows up tells a waterproofing pro which fix they're pricing. Staining and a white mineral crust low on a wall point to seepage through the foundation; a wet corner after every storm points to grading or a downspout dumping alongside the house; a puddle on the slab points somewhere else again. Paired with the history — when it happens and for how long — the photo separates an interior drainage-and-sump job from an exterior grading fix, so the assessment isn't a cold guess but a read on the actual pattern.

Generator installation

  • HVAC plus the essentials
  • Just the essentials — fridge, outlets, a little heat/cool
  • Essentials plus medical equipment

Tell us about your electrical panel and fuel.

+1 more question in the live form.

What the photo does here

A photo of the electrical panel — taken from the front, without opening anything — tells an installer the main breaker's amp rating, how full the panel is, and whether there's room for a transfer switch, which is where generator sizing actually starts. Add how much you want to back up and whether natural gas or propane is on site, and the installer can spec the right unit and a real price before a truck rolls. What the intake never does is invite anyone to open or wire the panel themselves — that's licensed work, and the photo is taken from a safe distance.

Don't see your niche?

If your work has its own triage questions and a photo that decides the job, it's a fit — the list above isn't the limit. We write the question set for your trade by hand during the pilot; you don't configure anything.

Tell us about your niche

Why there's no drag-and-drop builder

A generic form builder gets you a generic form. The value here is a question set written for one trade — what a good dispatcher or front desk would ask, in the right order, with the photo that matters. That takes a person who knows the trade, not a widget.
